1.   Application/Payment for services

(This option is for registered practitioners who have updated their records online with the Council by filling the online form accessible from their profile ).


  1. Login to your profile at mdcn.gov.ng.
  2. On the left hand side while in your profile, select the service for which application/payment is to be made. (Select ‘other payments’ option to make payments not on the list).
  3. Fill the short application form that will open, submit then click ‘proceed to make payment’.
  4. You can pay for more services at once by using the ‘continue shopping’ option.
  5. Click on ‘Process Checkout’ after selecting the total amount to be paid.
  6. Click on ‘Confirm’ if your details that is displayed from the database is correct, if not edit.
  7. Click on ‘Pay now’ for a re-direct to the remita platform where payment is made to the MDCN.
  8. Continue by following the screen information to complete your payment.
  9. Click on ‘Back Home’ on the transaction status receipt to go back to your profile.
  10. Click on your name at the top right corner to Log out after the session.

B. First time user:

(This option is for practitioners who do not have password to supply their details to the MDCN for verification/ account creation.)


  1. Click on ‘sign in’.
  2. Click on ‘First Time User’.
  3. Fill the short form that will be displayed.
  4. Click on ‘Submit’.
  5. Wait for an e-mail response from the MDCN.(This may take some days).
  6. Then proceed to option ‘C’ below.

  1. Updating of Records

        (This option is for practitioners who have been verified and granted access to the portal by the MDCN).


  1. MDCN creates a portal account/access  for a  doctor with the doctor’s folio number, full name and e-mail address.
  2. An automatic information from the MDCN is then sent to the registered e-mail address on how to proceed.
  3. Follow the link as shown on the e-mail received to supply a personal password and login to your profile with the MDCN.

            As an alternative to no. 3 above, go to www.mdcn.gov.ng, click on ‘sign in’ , click on ‘reset password’, supply your email address and click on reset password to submit, then 

            check your mail and follow the link from the automatic mail you will receive from the MDCN to type in your password.

  1. Click on your name to access the general registration form.
  2. Click on the ‘edit’ button at the top left corner of the form and fill the Personal, Educational, Registration and Employment sections of the form where it applies to you.
  3. Click on the box beside your name to upload a passport size photograph of yourself.
  4. Click on ‘save’ button to retain the changes. (‘Save’ button replaces the ‘Edit’ button when clicked).
  5. Click on ‘Attachment’ at the top of your form; then click ‘Add’ to upload attachments if any. (e.g. CPD, Certificates etc.)

  1. Other Payments

(This option can be used by stakeholders to make payments to the MDCN. e.g. Assessment Examination e.tc)


  1. Go to www.remita.net
  2. Select ‘Pay a Federal Government Agency’
  3. Fill the form as follows:
  1. Name of MDA (select ) : Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
  2. Name of Service/Purpose (select ): Select the type of service you are paying for
  3. Amount to Pay (N) (type) : amount you are to pay
  4. Payer’s Full Name  (type): Your full name
  5. Payer’s Email (type): Your e-mail
  6. Payer’s Phone (type): Your phone number
  1. Continue by following the screen information to complete your payment.


  1. If the Service you are paying for is not in 3b. above, select ‘others’ ,

             then type the service name under ‘description’.

  1.  The payee can print the page containing the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number generated through the process and take it to any Commercial Bank for payment or choose choose to continue making payment through ATM card by selecting CARD payment option.
